Sr. Accountant

Novetus Engineering LLC is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our growing professional services firm. The ideal candidate will bring 5-8 years of accounting experience and a strong background in accrual accounting. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing timely reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, while supporting the firm’s leadership with financial insights to drive informed business decisions.

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, accruals, and monthly reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for multiple entities under an LLC structure.
• Record and track member capital accounts, contributions, and distributions in accordance with partnership agreements.
• Monitor and book revenue recognition and expense accruals.
• Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for management review.
• Support the Director of Finance in coordinating annual tax filings with external accountants.
• Assist with annual audits as they arise.
• Prepare property and sales tax annual filings.
• Assist in the continued development and maintenance of internal controls and ensure compliance with company accounting policies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 5-8 years of accrual-based accounting experience.

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, Query Design, data analysis).
  • Proficient in accounting systems such as Quick Books Desktop/Online, Net Suite, Sage, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and partnership/LLC accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of project accounting principles.
