Our client, a private equity–backed manufacturing company based in Houston, is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and support financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis. This role offers hands‑on ownership of the close process and meaningful exposure to senior leadership in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing month‑end and year‑end close activities, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and producing accurate financial reporting to support operational and strategic decision‑making. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and comfortable driving process improvements within a PE‑backed structure.

• Own and manage the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion
• Perform monthly reviews of general ledger accounts to validate accuracy and support budget‑to‑actual variance explanations
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packages, including analytical commentary
• Develop and review monthly forecasts for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness
• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly with appropriate supporting schedules and adjusting entries
• Prepare the monthly borrowing base certificate and coordinate related lender reporting requirements
• Partner with senior leadership to deliver financial analysis and ad‑hoc reporting as needed
• Utilize available system and reporting tools to enhance visibility and efficiency
• Lead or support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
• CPA preferred but not required

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
• Familiarity with Epicor (or similar ERP systems) strongly preferred
• Strong foundation in U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis
