Position Summary
Large manufacturing companyis seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee assigned entities and manage a variety of accounting tasks and activities. The successful candidate will help strengthen the internal finance team and demonstrate the potential to grow within the organization.
Responsibilities- Perform accounting for two manufacturing plants and related small entities
- Record and track fixed assets, including additions, transfers, and disposals; prepare asset roll-forward schedules
- Perform income statement variance analysis
- Work closely with operations to track project status and analyze cost center expenses
- Prepare bank reconciliations, intercompany transfers, and general ledger account reconciliations
- Prepare monthly accruals, amortization and prepaid expense entries, excess billing entries, freight entries, and adjusting or reclassification journal entries as needed
- Calculate manufacturing overhead rates and perform monthly cost roll-ups
- Perform project billings for large-scale projects
- Adhere to deadlines established on the monthly close calendar
- Participate in audits and provide requested documentation and support
- Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes
- Respond to management requests related to accounting practices and processes
- Research accounting issues as needed
- Prepare ad hoc reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of experience in industry and/or public accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- ERP system experience required (SAP preferred)
- Strong variance analysis experience required
- Ability to build effective working relationships with accounting and operations teams
- Professional attitude and strong sense of commitment
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong prioritization and time management skills
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgment and decision-making ability
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally
- Ability to research and resolve issues with minimal supervision
