Accounting Manager

A growing industrial manufacturing company in South Houston is seeking a Site Cost Accounting Manager to lead plant accounting and cost accounting operations. This is a highly visible role that will partner closely with plant leadership and operations to drive financial performance, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all plant accounting and cost accounting activities
• Manage month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis
• Analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for improvement
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning processes
• Partner with operations leadership to improve plant performance and profitability
• Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with accounting policies
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to leadership

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong cost accounting and inventory accounting experience
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and manufacturing KPIs
• ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, JD Edwards, Net Suite, etc.)
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
