About the role

We are looking for a hands-on accountant to run our internal day-to-day accounting alongside our CFO and the broader accounting team. You will keep our financial records accurate, current and audit-ready — the unglamorous work that everything else depends on.

We would rather be straight about what this is. Most of your week is accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations and month-end support, done carefully and done on time. It is a precision role, not a strategic one. If you like closing the loop on things and leaving a clean trail behind you, you will enjoy it.

What you'll be doing

Accounts receivable

Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on schedule

Monitor AR aging, follow up on overdue accounts, and apply cash receipts

Accounts payable

Run the full AP cycle — receive, verify, code and reconcile vendor invoices

Process vendor payments and keep vendor records organized and complete

General accounting

Support general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations

Prepare and post journal entries as part of month-end close

Keep financial records complete and well organized, so that any review or audit is straightforward

Support the CFO with ad-hoc analysis and reporting

What we're looking forOne to three years in a transactional accounting role — AR, AP, general ledger or similarA college diploma or university degree in accounting, finance or a related field

Comfortable working in English with a Canada-based finance team

Able to commit 15–20 hours a week consistently, with overlap with Eastern Time business hours

Organized and precise, and able to pick up a task and carry it to the end without being chased

Nice to haveERP experience

Exposure to a consulting, professional services or SaaS environment

Experience in a small team where you owned your area end to end Comfort with multi-currency transactions

The engagement

This is an independent contractor engagement of 15–20 hours per week, worked remotely from your own country. You invoice us monthly.
