PT Assistant Veteran Affairs
Summary
Assists with the implementation of program activities and services that enhance student leadership, participation, success and retention. Provides clerical support to keep the office functioning smoothly and efficiently. Provides support by assisting with all student services initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist supervisor with planning, directing and coordinating system-wide program activities and services which promote student participation.
- Participate in various recruitment functions for high schools, colleges, community fairs, etc.
- Apply state waivers in HCC Student Finance system (People Soft) system.
- Assist with the coordination of special projects and assignments, and prepare and present status reports on system-wide activities and services (i.e. weekly, monthly, and annually) to the Director, VC and AVC of Student Services.
- Perform general office duties, including but not limited to filing, typing, faxing, and answering phones.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required). Associates degree preferred.
- 1 year experience in office environment (required).
- Experience using information management systems.
- 6 months experience or more in a community college student services setting preferred.
- Experience participating, planning or coordinating outreach activities in a higher education or community setting preferred.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
- Able to work a flexible work schedule (some evening and weekend hours may be required).
- Demonstrate computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office programs.

General office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
