Purpose and Scope

The Part-time Clerk, Academic Initiatives and Partnerships Operations supports other staff by performing task-oriented duties within the department providing clerical, analytical, administrative, and operational support.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provides administrative support and assistance in preparing documents
  • Provides administrative support in managing digital databases, including scanning existing files into database
  • Ensures compliance with record retention policies
  • Practices discretion with confidential information
  • Provides support with contract compliance
  • Responsible for all file management within the Academic Initiatives and Partnerships
  • Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
    • Proficiency with common office software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Access)
    • Must be computer literate
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate the detailed information in a concise and understandable format
    • Ability to work on multiple projects
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    Physical Demands

    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

    Work Environment
    • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
    • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
    • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
    Required Qualifications
    • High School Diploma

    • Current Lone Star College Student
    Salary

    Hourly Pay Rate is $16.33
