Job Title: Career Prep Student - Innovation & Equity Department
Reports To: Chief of Innovation & Equity
Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt / Part-time
The Career Prep Student assists the Innovation & Equity department. Spring ISD employees are expected to act with integrity, support and demonstrate our core values, communicate clearly and respectfully, and continuously improve self‑performance and processes.
Qualifications- Required: Spring ISD Junior or Senior High School Student
- Preferred: Media Tech, Graphic Design or Business Management Pathway Student
- Skills to operate standard office equipment
- Use English in both written and verbal forms
- Use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Perform basic arithmetic calculations
- Ability to file accurately
- Assist the Innovation & Equity staff with daily procedures
- Designing (graphic/visual support)
- Sort and deliver mail
- Assist with data entry and filing
- Scan and record‑keeping
- Help with setting up events
- Ensure office supplies are maintained
- Ensure timely and proper shredding of sensitive material
- Answer phone, mail and assist with requested information
- Work a minimum of 15 hours per week
- Other duties as assigned
This position requires the ability to maintain emotional control under stress. The job involves a fast‑paced, high‑intensity work environment with frequent interruptions. Employees may experience prolonged periods of sitting, reaching, repetitive hand motions, and computer use. The role requires initiative, tact, leadership qualities such as adaptability, flexibility, dependability, accountability, confidentiality, and frequent contact with all levels within and outside the district.
