PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
- Download and properly save all project documents
- Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs
- Perform vendor and subcontractor solicitations via Smart bid/Preconsuite system for all bids assigned
- Communicate with bidders and suppliers or subcontractors on all procurement related matters.
- Preparation of the bid inquiry documents, bid tabulations and selection recommendations.
- Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids
- Review quotes and estimates with the Project Management Team.
- Assemble vendor and subcontractor quotes for all bids
- Review quotes and estimates with the project team
- Perform assigned post-bid tasks
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
- Interface with operations management, estimating and other departments as required.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or Architecture is preferred
- 1-3 year's experience estimating construction projects
- Advanced computers skills with MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Knowledge estimating software – HCSS Heavy Bid
- Knowledge of construction costs and construction principles
- Familiarity with some aspects of horizontal and infrastructure projects preferred
- Well organized, personable, flexible, detail oriented and multi-tasked
- Prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demands
- Excellent written an oral communicator (
*** If Bilingual English & Spanish will be great***) - Knowledge of procurement best practices, competitive bidding, market conditions, general contract terms and conditions is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
