Job SummaryThe Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety protocols at a designated construction site. This role supports the site team by ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting inspections, and fostering a culture of safety. #gowgar
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesEssential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing the following regularly or as a backup:
- Serve as the primary safety contact for the assigned construction site
- Conduct continuous site safety inspections and hazard assessments
- Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions
- Monitor compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies
- Investigate incidents and near‑misses; recommend corrective actions
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and logs
- Collaborate with site leadership to resolve safety concerns
- Promote a proactive site leadership to resolve safety concerns
- Perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Active CHST certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)
- Experience managing safety on a single‑site construction project
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e.: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Comfortable working within Windows‑based platforms
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software systems and digital tools
