Bayou Electrical Servicesisseekinganexperienced ,proactive,andhands-onSafety
Managertooverseedailysafetyoperationsacrossmultipleindustrialelectricalandinstrumentation(I&E) construction projects.
The Safety Managerwillberesponsibleforsupportingfieldoperations ,supervisingfieldsafetypersonnel,conductingjobsiteinspections,ensuringcompliancewithcompanysafetyprocedures,andpromotingastrongsafetyculturethroughouttheorganization.
Thispositionrequiresanindividualwhocaneffectivelyleadfieldsafetyteams,workcloselywithprojectmanagementandfieldsupervision,identifypotentialhazards,andimplementcorrectiveactionsbeforeincidentsoccur.
The Safety Managerwillreportdirectlytothe HR&Safety Directorandwillberesponsibleforthedailyexecutionandenforcementofestablishedsafetyprogramsandprocedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesField Safety Operations &Oversight
- Overseedailysafetyactivitiesacrossmultipleactivejobsites.
- Conductroutinefieldvisits,safety inspections,andjobsiteauditstoidentifyhazardsandevaluatecompliance.
- Ensurefieldemployeesandsupervisorsfollowestablishedcompanysafetypolicies,client requirements,andapplicableOSHAregulations.
- Workcloselywith Project Managers ,Superintendents,and Forementoaddresssafetyconcernsandimprovejobsiteconditions.
- Monitor high-risk activities,includingelectricalwork,lockout/tagout(LOTO),confinedspaceentry,excavation,lifting operations,andworkatheights.
- Ensureproperuseofpersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE),safety equipment,andrequiredworkpermits.
- Exercisestop-workauthoritywhenunsafeconditionsorpracticesareidentified.
Safety Personnel Management
- Providedirectoversight,guidance,andsupporttofieldsafetytechnicians.
- Coordinatesafetypersonnelassignmentsbasedonprojectneeds,manpower,andclientrequirements.
- Establishclearexpectationsforfieldsafetypersonnelregardinginspections,reporting,anddailyresponsibilities.
- Conductregularmeetingswithfieldsafetytechnicianstoreviewjobsiteactivities,safetyfindings,andupcomingprojectneeds.
- Monitorperformanceandensuresafetypersonnelareactivelyengagedinfieldoperations.
- Mentoranddevelopsafetytechnicianstostrengthentheirtechnicalknowledgeandleadershipcapabilities.
Incident Management&Corrective Actions
- Respondtoworkplaceincidents,near misses,andsignificantsafetyconcerns.
- Leadfield-levelincidentinvestigationsandassistwithidentifyingrootcausesandcontributingfactors.
- Ensureaccurateandtimelycollectionofincidentreports,witness statements,photographs,andsupportingdocumentation.
- Developandimplementcorrectiveactionstopreventrecurrence.
- CommunicateincidentsandsignificantfindingspromptlytotheHR&Safety Director.
- Trackcorrectiveactionsthroughcompletionandverifytheireffectiveness.
- Assistwithincidentreviewsandclientfollow-upmeetingsasneeded.
Safety Training&Employee Development
- Coordinateandconductsafetyorientationsandjob-specific training.
- Identifytrainingneedsbasedonfieldobservations,incidents,andclientrequirements.
- Assistwithweeklysafetymeetings,toolbox talks,andongoingemployeesafetyeducation.
- Reinforcesafetyexpectationswithnewlyhiredemployeesandemployeestransitioningbetweenprojects.
- Workwithfieldleadershiptoensureemployeesunderstandthehazardsassociatedwiththeirassignedtasks.
Safety Compliance&Documentation
- Ensureestablishedcompanysafetyproceduresareconsistentlyimplementedacrossallprojects.
- Review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs),Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs),permits,andotherfieldsafetydocumentationforaccuracyandcompleteness.
- Maintainorganizedrecordsofjobsiteinspections,safety observations,training,andcorrectiveactions.
- AssisttheHR&Safety Directorwithclientsafetyaudits,regulatory inspections,and compliance-related requests.
- IdentifygapsinexistingsafetyproceduresandrecommendimprovementstotheHR&Safety Director.
- SupportcompliancewithOSHAregulationsandapplicableclient-specificsafetyrequirements.
Communication&Leadership
- Serveastheprimarypointofcontactforroutinefieldsafetyconcernsandoperationalsafetyissues.
- Maintaineffectivecommunicationwith Project Managers ,Superintendents,Foremen,andfieldsafetytechnicians.
- ProvideregularupdatestotheHR&Safety Directorregardingjobsitesafetyperformance,incidents,staffing needs,andareasofconcern.
- Participateinoperationalandprojectplanningmeetingstoidentifypotentialsafetyrisksbeforeworkbegins.
- Promote accountability,teamwork,andaproactiveapproachtoworkplacesafety.
- Leadbyexampleandmaintainaconsistent,professionalpresenceinthefield.
- Minimumof5yearsofexperienceinconstructionorindustrialsafety,preferablywithinelectricalandinstrumentationoperations.
- Minimumof2yearsofexperienceinasafetyleadershiporsupervisoryrole.
