About This Role

R.R. Cassidy is searching for a Senior Estimator in Beaumont, TX. The Senior Estimator leads the preparation of accurate, competitive bids for electrical, utility and infrastructure construction projects, from initial scope review through award and handoff to operations. This role owns the cost and risk picture for assigned pursuits, mentors junior estimators, and works directly with business development, project management and executive leadership to win profitable work.

What

You'll Do
  • Review bid documents, drawings, specifications and addenda; identify scope, exclusions, ambiguities and risks, and issue RFIs and clarifications.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor and indirect cost estimates using historical data, vendor quotes and current market pricing.
  • Prepare complete bid packages, including schedules, staffing plans, general conditions, bonds, insurance and contingency, and present them for management review.
  • Solicit, level and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals; negotiate pricing and terms.
  • Assess project risk, including commodity escalation, labor availability, site access, permitting and outage constraints, and recommend pricing strategy.
  • Lead and mentor estimators and estimating assistants; review their takeoffs and estimates for accuracy and completeness.
  • Partner with business development on proposals, interviews and client presentations; attend site visits and pre-bid meetings.
  • Manage multiple concurrent bids to deadline while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Hand off awarded estimates to project management and operations, including budgets, assumptions, scope notes and a buyout plan.
  • Maintain and improve cost databases, unit-cost libraries and estimating templates; track bid results and lessons learned.
  • Support value engineering, change order pricing and budget updates during execution as needed.
What You'll Bring
  • 7+ years of construction estimating experience, with at least 3 years in electrical, utility or infrastructure work.
  • Proven record of estimating projects of comparable size and complexity.
  • Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (Bluebeam/Adobe, Claude) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, civil and structural drawings and specifications.
  • Must be able to report to work at the Beaumont office Monday - Friday 7AM - 5PM
  • Primarily office-based, with periodic travel to job sites, client meetings and pre-bid walks
