KHOU-TV Houston, the CBS TEGNA affiliate, is looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Journalist to maintain our tradition of superior reporting and news gathering. We seek a journalist capable of creating unique, memorable, and well-written stories, sharing them across all platforms with outstanding photography and editing. If you're a creative storyteller who understands multi-platform journalism and is not bound by traditional methods, we want to hear from you!

Current driver's license and ability to operate a news gathering vehicle are required.

• Perform authoritative, compelling live shots during developing stories or breaking news.
• Develop story ideas and mine the community for sources.
• Identify, write, and produce stories within a specific framework.
• Research facts and maintain credibility.
• Develop sources to enhance reporting.
• Shoot, write, produce, and edit content for on-air and online platforms within deadlines.
• Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new media to enhance stories.
• Utilize social media and digital tools for research and distribution.
• Participate in editorial meetings and contribute story ideas daily.
• Write in an exciting, captivating, and authentic manner.

• 3-5 years of reporting experience preferred.
• Solid news judgment, strong communication, creativity, and ethical decision-making skills.
• Strong writing, production, and tease writing abilities.
• Experience with ENPS, EDIUS, and Axis graphics is preferred.
• Organized with the ability to work under deadlines.
• Ability to handle live breaking news calmly.
• Proven social and digital content creation skills.
• Knowledge of Houston is a plus.
