** Reporter
* * to join our team! The reporter will be responsible for investigating, producing, writing and presenting accurate, balanced news stories for digital, social media assets and broadcast. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to daily news gathering, and reporting as well as appearances at community and station events in a fast-paced, extremely competitive market

* ABOUT YOU:

** To become our ideal candidate, you must be eager and able to cover the multifaceted aspects of the vibrant Houston community, going in-depth in every assignment, and make sure the service provided to the audience goes beyond expectations. You must be a dynamic, creative, digital savvy Reporter who thinks outside the box, have solid news judgment, can multitask while on deadline, and communicates clearly and effectively in front and behind the camera.
** YOUR DAY-DAY:
*** You will research, investigate, interview, write, produce and present in Spanish, live or pre-recorded, from the field and in a studio setting, on compelling daily news and features for our multiplatform news products.
* You will cover breaking news with urgency and accuracy, including extreme Weather situations, and produce special reports/series as needed.
* Support our digital efforts on all our platforms with error-free content generation and posting, push alerts, and social media postings.
* Make phone calls, seek out eyewitnesses, track court dockets for key cases, and demand public records, including

Videos when needed.
* Public appearances at station promotions, community, and school events on behalf of the station when necessary.
* You might need to travel for coverage purposes
* Responsible to produce digital content for station(s) in different formats (Video, article pages, photo galleries and social media posts)
* Establish a good working-relationship with newscast producers and co-anchors to ensure a well-placed, accurate and informative broadcast.
** YOU HAVE:
*** BS/BA OR MA in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in TV Reporting in Spanish language broadcasting.
* Must be bilingual in Spanish and English with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
* Strong story-telling skills and on-camera presence, with proven ability to find and follow leads, nurturing sources, conduct live presentations and interviews with strong improvisation skills
* Full grasp of social media and online reporting, including stories in video, pictures, and audio, for multiple platforms.
* Strong work ethics and outgoing personality, with solid knowledge of journalistic ethics and libel, and ability to handle simultaneous tasks, working well in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, while handling stress and pressure appropriately
* Thorough knowledge of current local, regional, national, and international affairs, with emphasis in Latin American issues and ample knowledge in Houston
* Ability to use mobile technology, including cell phones and tables as tools to process and transmit information preferred
