UTHealth Houston's School of Dentistry is hiring for a Dental Assistant I to join their team of professionals. The DA I will be responsible for assisting residents/students with dental treatment, taking X-rays and CBCTs, setting up surgeries, infection control, cleaning and fully stocking operatories, and more. RDA from the State Board of Dental Examiners is required. CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities- Assists in the teaching of dental students, dental assisting students, and dental hygiene students in the principles of four-handed dentistry and dental assistant utilization (DAU).
- Provides chair side assistance to students and faculty.
- Maintains sterile and prepares equipment, instruments, and supplies within working area.
- Maintains infection control standards.
- Maintains records of patients seen, procedures performed, materials used, and appointments.
- Responds to emergency situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a recognized dental assistant educational program preferred.
- Dental Assistant by Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) required.
- Basic office or computer skills.
- RDA license required; CPR/BLS certification highly preferred.
