Job Overview

kelsey‑seybold clinic, part of optum, is seeking an anatomic and clinical pathologist. the role focuses on surgical pathology, cytology, frozen section, rose, clinical lab oversight, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

• Sign out surgical pathology and cytology specimens with high diagnostic quality.
• Consult with referring physicians on test ordering, interpretation, and treatment recommendations.
• Provide written pathology reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Perform frozen sections on a rotating basis and rapid on‑site assessment (rose) of fine‑needle aspirations.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment conferences and peer review activities.
• Maintain compliance with turnaround time, peer review metrics, and clia, cap, and osha regulations.
• Oversee and educate laboratory personnel in specimen processing and quality assurance.
• Adhere to hipaa and confidentiality requirements and perform on‑call responsibilities as needed.
• Complete annual training, staff meetings, and continuing medical education requirements for state licensure.

• medical degree (md/do) and accredited residency training.
• licensed or willing to be licensed in the state of texas.
• board certified or board eligible in pathology.
• strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to establish positive relationships with providers and staff.
• ability to exercise initiative, problem solving, and decision making independently.
• driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• bilingual (english/spanish) fluency.

salary range: $307,500 – $528,000 (base pay plus bonus). additional benefits include a comprehensive benefits package, equity stock purchase, 401(k) contributions, incentive and recognition programs, and other eligibility‑based benefits.
