Gastroenterology & Hepatology - Assistant Professor
Baylor College of Medicine, located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, is a premier academic health science center. The Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in the Department of Medicine is actively recruiting an Assistant Professor to join the expansion e's Health—The Vintage. The successful candidate will provide outpatient and inpatient services, direct patient care, teaching, mentoring trainees, and participate in section meetings and conferences.
Opportunities for research, quality improvement, and leadership development are encouraged.
- Participate in the inpatient consult service at Baylor St. Luke’s-The Vintage.
- Develop a treatment plan for patients.
- Meet productivity benchmarks established by Baylor College of Medicine.
- Participate in all routine clinical meetings held with the immediate work group.
- Maintain required certifications and licensing.
- Become familiar with Electronic Medical Record system, enter data into EMR, and develop a level of competency to document all patient encounters.
- Complete all documentation in a timely manner.
- Order diagnostic services and refer to specialists.
- Be an active member of a clinical group practice, including educational activities such as Grand Rounds, monthly faculty meetings and retreats.
- Share call responsibilities within the clinical group and provide medical care to the patients of other providers when they are not available.
- Meet or exceed all quality indicators.
- Maintain professionalism in relationships with students, faculty, ancillary and administrative staff.
- Complete/renew all professional billing and credentialing paperwork well ahead of their expiration.
- Be organized, self‑motivated, work well under pressure, and multitask.
- Minimum Education:
M.D. - Minimum Job
Experience:
Residency & Fellowship training in Gastroenterology or Hepatology. - Minimum Certification/Licenses/Registration:
Texas Medical Board license. - Board required to practice medicine in the state of Texas.
