McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking an outstanding physician-scientist leader to serve as chief of its Pediatric Infectious Diseases division. The chief will provide vision and lead ongoing growth within this expanding medical school.
The Division has a 50-year history of excellence in academic pediatrics, with success in research and clinical care. It supports diverse research programs and provides inpatient and outpatient services at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, a 240-bed facility with specialized units and a high volume of patient visits annually.
UTHealth Pediatric Infectious Diseases offers a resource-rich environment including:
- General infectious diseases
- HIV care
- Antimicrobial stewardship
- Infection control and hospital epidemiology
- Clinical research
- Transplant and immunocompromised host services
- Perinatal infection research
The division hosts multiple faculty members and has an ACGME-accredited fellowship program. Clinicians serve multiple hospitals and clinics within the system.
Qualifications:
- MD, DO, Ph.D., or equivalent
- Texas Medical License or eligibility
Candidates should demonstrate clinical excellence, leadership, scholarly productivity, and a commitment to academic pediatrics. Board certification and eligibility for Texas licensure are required. Applicants must submit a CV, three references, and a personal statement outlining leadership, clinical goals, and research interests.
