Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a full-time Primary Care Sports Medicine physician to join their team at the campus located in The Heights area. This role involves providing standard orthopedic practice as well as on-field coverage for local high school football games. The physician will work within a dynamic academic medical environment alongside orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and occupational therapists.

• Campus located in The Heights area
• Care provided for a range of patients from professional athletes and performing artists to patients with traumatic injuries and joint disorders
• Multidisciplinary team structure working closely with orthopedic surgeons, primary care sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists
• Involvement in advancing orthopedic research and training the next generation of leaders in orthopedic surgery
• Official Healthcare Provider of the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Houston Ballet, Rice University, and the Houston Rodeo
• Part of Houston Methodist Primary Care Group with more than 40 locations throughout the Greater Houston area

Responsibilities

• Provide standard orthopedic practice
• Provide on-field coverage for local high school football games in the Heights area

Shift & Schedule

• Full-time position
• Work Shift:
  
  1 - Day (United States of America)
• May require travel within the Houston Metropolitan area
• May require travel outside Houston Metropolitan area
• May be required to be on-call during emergencies (ie. Disaster, Severe Weather Events, etc)

Qualifications

• Texas license, or be in the process of obtaining one
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine/Sports Medicine
