Primary PurposeTo help insure the safety and security of the school building during the time when students are in the building.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- Qualifies for appropriate state paraprofessional certification
- Some college and/or technical training preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Able to maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to multi-task activities
- Knowledge of behavior and social skill intervention techniques and methodology
- Able to work with students with significant behavioral needs
- Able to develop and deliver professional development
- Trained in CPI or other crisis intervention program

One of the primary purposes of this position is to assist in carrying out the district’s goal of improving student achievement by providing assistance to students who are at‑risk of academic failure or dropping out of school and/or staff who work with students at‑risk of academic failure or dropping out of school.
Program Support- Address unauthorized persons for questioning and then reroutes or detains them.
- Patrol halls and checks on restrooms to prevent students from congregating and loitering.
- Periodically check parking lots for parking authorization.
- Monitor in SAC class when necessary.
- Monitor cafeteria during lunch periods.
- Assist with canine inspection.
- Perform bus duty.
- Work with at‑risk students to help improve student performance at school.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.

Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals - Posture:
Standing, prolonged walking, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting - Motion:
Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head - Lifting:
Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds);
May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds) - Environment:
May work prolonged or irregular hours; possible district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors - Mental Demands:
Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Salary Range Min. $25,627 Mid. $29,945 Max. $34,262 (Based on previous experience)
Salary is based on 187 days. If working less than 187 days, the salary will be less.
