Role

This role rewards high‑performance teachers in the classroom. Upon third year, eligible teachers may earn additional stipends based on the Teacher Pathway and Instructional Excellence Rubric.
Salary progression: 1 yr $93k, 5 yrs $96k, 10 yrs $99k, 15 yrs $101.5k.

Responsibilities
  • Develop rigorous, equity‑focused lessons in blended 1:1 learning environments.
  • Set ambitious goals, monitor student progress, and provide continuous feedback.
  • Track growth data and collaborate with coaches to address achievement concerns.
  • Build relationships with students and families through consistent communication.
  • Create conducive learning environments, physical or virtual.
  • Co‑plan with peers, add resources to meet student needs.
  • Meet deadlines for lesson plans, grading, and assessment samples.
  • Contribute to team culture: support, accountability, and student equity.
  • Participate in content team PD to elevate learning.
  • Conduct weekly tutorials for additional student support.
  • Perform campus supervision duties (morning/lunch/dismissal, detention, after‑school).
  • Engage in professional growth, receiving and providing feedback.
  • Maintain student safety and data confidentiality.
  • Communicate with leaders, collaborators, and parents as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Person – Must Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.
  • Texas Educator Certification, or willingness to pursue certification.
  • Proficiency in educational technology platforms.
  • Belief in and commitment to YES Prep mission and core values.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Perks & Compensation
  • Salary:
    Exempt, salaried position; starting salary $61,000 for first‑year teachers.
  • Health & Supplemental Insurance: $0 monthly medical option with $600 HSA contribution. Dental, vision, disability, life, etc.
  • Retirement Plans:
    Teacher Retirement System of Texas and a 457b plan.
  • Paid Time Off: 10 days PTO for 20+ hrs/week (system closures).
  • Paid Leave:
    Maternity, paternity, and other medical leave at 100% based on eligibility and tenure.
  • Teacher Pathway:
    Bonuses up to $3,000 for top performance.
  • Teacher Incentive Allotment: $3,000–$32,000 depending on performance.
