• Develop year-long Texas State standards-based unit plans and lesson plans that meet all students’ learning needs.
• Use assessment data to modify short and long-term plans to improve student performance.
• Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvement.
• Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to promote critical thinking and academic rigor.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
• Participate in daily school functions such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.
• Attend critical school events such as staff meetings, open houses, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Develop individualized learning plans for students and communicate these plans to families in meetings.
• Meet professional obligations including timeliness and meeting deadlines.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and/or subject area, if applicable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of core subject area assigned.
• Must be considered highly-qualified based on NCLB guidelines, if applicable.
• Satisfactory background check; fingerprinting fee applies.

• Strong record of helping students achieve academic success, especially in underserved communities.
• Desire to teach an academically intense curriculum and commit to an extended school day, week, and year.
• Desire to continuously learn and improve; open to feedback.

The starting salary for this role is $59,000 with the opportunity to earn more based on experience. Full-time KIPP Texas employees are eligible for benefit plans, including:

Compensation elements include the Teacher Career Pathway (TCP) with potential additional annual compensation up to $15,000, and eligibility for TEA Teacher Incentive Allotment with potential up to $32,000 additional per year.
