Description: The Department of English at the University of Houston is hiring temporary, part‑time lecturers. Instructional content areas of particular need are:
Freshman Composition I and Freshman Composition II. Successful applicants may also be asked to instruct undergraduate courses in other areas such as literature. These courses are taught in multiple formats such as face‑to‑face instruction, hybrid, and online. This is a non‑tenure track position and appointments are made on a semester‑to‑semester basis.
To apply, candidates must provide a letter of interest, a current curriculum vitae, and unofficial transcripts. Applicants are also welcome to provide a teaching philosophy/statement and a writing sample.
QualificationsMaster or doctorate in English, or related field, with at least a year of teaching at the college level.

A list of three references will be requested upon selection.
Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of final candidate. All positions at the University of Houston‑System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check.
