Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision of the Wellness Coordinator, the PT Trainer, Fitness provides group fitness instruction, monitors and educates patrons on fitness and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology and training principles
- Demonstrated knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate music, tempo, cueing and rhythm as it applies to choreographed class formats
- Demonstrated ability to be professional and motivate class participants
- Demonstrated ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members
- Physical capability to perform frequent standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, twisting, walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, overhead reaching, lifting and carrying
- Physically capable of performing heavy lifting (50 pounds)
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
