This position is fixed‑term, with an expected end date of September 30, 2026, and the possibility of renewal and extension of the appointment, depending on funding and performance.
Purpose:
Provide technical assistance supporting pedagogy professional development and provide on‑the‑job training for educators in the University of Texas at Austin GUIDES 2025 GEAR UP grant districts. Monitor the implementation of professional development in classrooms and its impact on student performance.
Location:
Houston/East Texas area.
- Coordinate and provide regular monitoring and technical assistance to professional development efforts in UT GUIDES 2025 GEAR UP grant districts.
- Provide technical assistance and instructional support to districts to self‑sustain professional development and provide on‑the‑job training through instructional coaching. Monitor the implementation of professional development in the classrooms and its impact on parent engagement and student performance.
- Coordinate and assist with the development and implementation of face‑to‑face and virtual professional development training for GEAR UP educators. Deliver professional development to GEAR UP educators.
- Provide up‑to‑date research, information, and available resources about promising practices to district teachers and leaders.
- Provide regular updates to the project manager, grant directors, and the state office, and assist districts with associated data collection and reporting.
- Master’s degree in a field related to the training assignment (Education)
- 5+ years of teaching experience
- Experience providing professional development and instructional coaching
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
- Experience working with economically challenged students and districts
- Teaching certificate and experience in math, science, or STEM
$65,000 + depending on qualifications.
Working Conditions- May work around standard office conditions with repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
- This position is located in the Houston/East Texas areas and requires regular travel.
