Position Summary

Houston Christian University (HCU) announces an Adjunct Professor in our Psychology Department in the field of Social Work to begin Fall 2025. The Department of Psychology is part of the College of Education and Behavior Sciences and houses the Bachelor of Social Work degree. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Social Work.

Job Responsibilities:

• College level teaching experience
• Utilize a course syllabus for each course and follow established departmental and institutional guidelines
• Provide timely, quality access to students via personal consultation, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.
• Evaluate students by established means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and to inform them in a timely manner of their progress.
• Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
• Stay current with developments in the field of social work
• Submit paperwork and forms in a timely fashion
• Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

• MSW, PhD, or DSW in the field of Social Work
• LMSW or LCSW preferred
• Professional experience in the field of Social Work
• Teaching experience preferred
• Ability to teach Social Work courses in a manner consistent with the University's Christian mission and values as articulated in the Ten Pillars.
