Purpose:

Participate in a semester-long or year-long student teacher resident experience under the guidance of a highly effective mentor teacher observing and learning in an on the job environment. Qualifications/

Skills:

Education/Certification:

* Enrolled in one of the following universities: UH-Main, UH-Teach Houston, UH-Downtown, or Stephen

F. Austin State University and Texas A&M University and working towards a teaching certification.

* Accepted into the University Student Teacher Resident Program.

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

* Broad knowledge of MS Word and broad knowledge of MS Excel.

* Computer literate. Ability to operate various office equipment (copier/fax machine).

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to work with people effectively.

* Strong time management skills.

* Ability to lift and transport textbooks/materials to designated areas.

Other:

* Must be a current University student enrolled in one of the universities listed above; working towards teaching certification and in good standing with the university.
