Position: Manager, Student Recruitment - Central College

Manager, Student Recruitment - Central College

We are looking for a Manager for the Admission Advisor team who will bring academic and industry expertise and be a part of the growing Mosaic that is HCC. The role works closely with college leadership to develop and implement the College’s strategic enrollment management plan and leads a team of Admissions Advisors.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the Department in establishing and achieving annual goals and objectives.
  • Develop, review, modify, and implement recruitment procedures and guidelines.
  • Supervise and train Admissions Advisors, including performance evaluations.
  • Implement the Customer Service Model of Excellence.
  • Provide department leadership and consistent services by implementing Institutional procedures, forms, and reports.
  • Identify best practices and apply consistently.
  • Develop annual enrollment forecasts, predictive models and budgets in collaboration with the Dean of Students; build, lead, and motivate teams to meet enrollment goals.
  • Manage departmental budget and serve as signature authority; approve purchase of office supplies and advising materials.
  • Provide training opportunities and keep department informed of new developments and innovations within recruitment and outreach.
  • Represent the department at system-wide meetings.
  • Provide comprehensive statistical and data‑informed analyses to inform policy decisions; track student progress and report to college leadership.
  • Assist with college recruitment activities, including arranging on‑site visits for parents and students, pre‑enrollment workshops, and new student orientation.
  • Coordinate enrollment activities such as college & career fairs, open houses, admissions & registration fairs, and other enrollment events.
  • Evaluate and improve student enrollment experience practices, including timely, effective engagement with students and families.
  • Interpret admissions assessment scores from high schools to determine if further testing is needed; assist COE with promotion of special programs such as learning communities, bridge courses, honors programs, service learning, etc.
  • Build positive relationships with high school college & career advisors, counselors, and departments; including charter, private schools, community organizations and partners.
  • During peak enrollment periods, work directly with students on campus to assist admissions and advising.
  • Provide information and referrals to students needing services such as tutoring, testing, career counseling, financial aid, disability services, etc.
  • Provide online advisement services via email, phone, and other applicable technology to students including out-of-state and distance education students.
  • Assist in retention activities, including Early‑Alert, as a team member within the Success Center.
  • Establish and maintain interdepartmental relationships with all Student Services and instructional programs.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of work experience in a higher education advising or recruitment setting, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with higher education and CRM products preferred.
  • Participation in HCC College Leadership Program preferred.
Licensing & Certification
  • Valid Texas Driver License.

Working Conditions

General office work. Employees may be required to walk, stand, sit, use hands, reach, and talk or hear. Vision abilities include close and distance vision. Use of computers, telephone, printer, photocopier, file cabinets, and calculator is required. Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 25 pounds. May be required to work after hours, including weekends and holidays.
