Description
:
The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies develops and implements programs and strategies for undergraduate students. The Assistant Director advises, counsels, and assists undergraduate students with registration and the application process.
Duties- Develops and implements recruiting programs and strategies for prospective business majors from feeder community colleges
- Advises, counsels and assists undergraduate students with registration and application process, maintaining all relevant records and data
- Creates presentation to potential business students from the feeder community colleges
- Develops relationships with community colleges advising and transfer centers to promote the undergraduate business majors to their students
- Assists in developing strategies to support student success, focusing on auditing student records and providing advice on career plans
- Follows-up with prospective students who expressed an interest in pursuing a business major
- Advises prospective transfer students, applicants, and newly admitted students on college majors and requirements
- Provides oversight, direction, coordination, accountability and management support for all activities and initiatives within the undergraduate programs
- Performs all other duties as assigned

- Follows up to ensure tasks and projects are completed within reasonable time frames

- Assigns projects and tasks with clear instructions and work expectations
Required Education
:
- Bachelor's degree
Required Experience
:
- Minimum of four (4) years of related job experience
- Relevant experience in academic advising, recruiting and outreach
- Experience working with community colleges advisors and students
License/Certification
:
- None required
- Master's degree is preferred
- Fluency in languages spoken by groups of potential business majors (other than English)

- Knowledge of graduate programs in a higher education environment and the related trends, issues, and accepted practices
- Knowledge of undergraduate program admissions requirements and prerequisites
- Knowledge of relevant university policies and procedures

Physical Demands
:
- Work is performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements
- Individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks
- Must have precise hand-eye coordination and the ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Must have the ability to move items of up to 30lbs
