The Department of Bioengineering at Rice University, located in Houston, TX, seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027.The Department of Bioengineering, a Top 10 ranked department by USNews & World Report, is located in the Bio Science Research Collaborative building, adjacent to the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world.

We encourage candidates in the following areas to apply: cancer bioengineering, immunoengineeringand immunotherapy, neuroengineering, bioprinting andbiomanufacturing, mechanobiology, and studies of disease and disease mechanisms. However, candidates from all areas ofbioengineering will be considered. Outstanding candidates at higherranks (Associate Professor or Full Professor) may also be considered.

The selected candidate will be expected to teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses within their expertise; perform high-quality research in their specialized area and present findings from their research in peer-reviewed publications and conferences; establish a strong research program supported byextramural funding; be involved in service to the university and broader scientific community; and collaborate with faculty indiverse disciplines. The successful candidate will be required tohave a strong commitment to teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds.
