Established in 2012, Lone Star College 'University Park offers a distinctive college environment in northwest Houston on the former Compaq and Hewlett-Packard corporate campus. LSC-University Park provides highly affordable university-transfer and workforce programs, including specialized offerings in artificial intelligence and energy and manufacturing. Campus facilities include the Energy & Manufacturing Institute, Center for Science & Innovation, Visual and Performing Arts Building, and two covered parking garages serving the main campus complex.

Job Description Purpose and Scope:

The Coordinator III, Student Activities works in collaboration with key campus stakeholders to intentionally engage students through student activities, student organizations, community service, sports club programs, and the student lounge. This position directly supports the Director/Program Manager, Student Activities/Student Services for Lone Star College with the development and assessment of student engagement programming.

Essential Job Functions:

Oversees daily and some long-term operations of assigned area;
Actively maintains up-to-date knowledge of area and acts as a Subject Matter Expert and general point of contact within the area of specialty.

Coordinates the day to day operations of the student lounge;
Promoting and monitoring student involvement, training and advising faculty advisors and student leaders, and ensuring student organizations are in compliance with all state, system, and college policies, rules, and regulations.

Creates and submits a variety of reports related to assigned department;
Performs research and analysis to assists with preparation and presentation of findings;
May make presentations at various levels both internally and externally.

Assists with evaluation of programs and makes recommendations for revisions to processes and procedures, with a focus on continuous departmental/process improvement;
Assists with development of new programs and events.
