Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team in a fast paced and challenging area? This is a unique opportunity for you to work in the Physical Energy Scheduling team to partner with the Business to provide a comprehensive view of managing physical gas, power and natural gas liquids data on a proprietary platform.

Job Summary

As an Associate on the Physical Energy Scheduling team, you’ll be exposed to these markets on a daily basis in covering a suite of Natural Gas pipelines and will have the opportunity to drive automation in the Physical Energy space.

The Physical Energy Scheduling team is located on the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) Commodities trading floor in Houston, TX focused on handling all physical logistics for Natural Gas, Power, and Natural Gas Liquids executed by the CIB Markets trading business. The team is part of the wider CIB Markets Operations organization.

Job Responsibilities
  • Communicate with internal trading teams and counterpart scheduling teams regarding energy physical positions
  • Submit and manage physical gas, power and natural gas liquids data on a proprietary platform
  • Assist in the automation of physical energy scheduling processes
  • Manage nominations, confirmations, imbalances, and other related activities on various natural gas pipelines
  • Monitor and resolve volumetric discrepancies in energy physical products
  • Track and interpret pipeline curtailments and operational issues; using applications and pipeline electronic bulletin boards or communicating with pipeline transportation representatives.
  • Partner with other lines of business on training and verification of physical energy products, such as pipeline invoicing and volume reconciliation front-to-back processes
Required Qualifications , Capabilities, and Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years energy relevant experience with an advanced understanding of Natural Gas logistics
  • Must be comfortable with technology projects and initiatives and have aptitude to quickly learn new technical software
  • Positive attitude when working with internal and external teams
  • Excellent attention to detail along with the ability to provide accurate and timely information
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines
Preferred Qualifications , Capabilities, and Skills
  • 5 years experience in physical gas scheduling
  • Physical power experience
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel
  • Proven track record of process improvement and strategic initiative participation
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
