Job DescriptionAs a Technician II, you will help perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair wind turbines. You will interpret fault reports, maintain power generation reports, service logs in computer databases, and monitor turbine performance. Work independently on many electrical and mechanical components and lead the Lock Out Tag Out program.
Key Responsibilities- Support mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems troubleshooting and repairs to support a site.
- Complete all relevant paperwork, including work order cards, checklists, AWPs, etc.
- Recognize occurrences of wind turbine error codes and appropriately report the issue.
- Replace major turbine components such as generators and gearboxes.
- Assist with high-voltage system maintenance and repair.
- High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s Degree is a bonus, but not required.
- 1+ years’ experience as a Wind Turbine Technician.
- Valid driver’s license (non‑CDL or CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and follow instructions.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle standardized problems.
- Pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening.
- Capability to lift/move up to 100 pounds.
- Physical fitness to free climb 300 ft multiple times a day while wearing 25+ lbs of climbing gear and work in extreme weather conditions.
- Capability to rescue teammates anywhere in the tower during an emergency.
- Knowledge of Personal Fall Arrest System weight limits (max 309 lbs total, with personal body weight not exceeding 260 lbs).
