This Position reports to:
Service Operations Manager
In this role you will be responsible for Field Service Management within Process Automation Energy Industries ensuring customer deliverable execution of Commissioning upgrades and small projects. The work model for the role is:
Hybrid. This role is contributing to Process Automation Energy Industries in the US.
- Oversee and manage on-site DCS commissioning activities ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards. Provide day-to-day management, leadership, and support to the Field Service Commissioning team, ensuring efficient coordination and execution of tasks.
- Support project management, project teams, contractors, and clients in planning and executing commissioning phases of projects to meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Collaborate with the sales team (where applicable) to support efforts in securing purchase orders by providing technical input and field service insights. Work with the proposal team (where applicable) to define field service requirements and scope during the proposal development stage. Coordinate with engineering teams (where applicable) to support project development, ensuring field service and commissioning needs are incorporated into design.
Assist customers and the Field Service Commissioning team as requested, providing technical guidance, troubleshooting, and support during and after commissioning. - Prepare detailed documentation, manage commissioning schedules, ensure safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement through feedback and lessons learned.
- Meet with employees and customers in the field to ensure needs are met (25% overnight travel is expected).
- 10+ years of experience in a Field Service function, Field Service Management, or Project Management roles and experience with 800xA, Harmony/S+ (preferred), or heritage ABB control systems.
- Sound knowledge of ABB Field Service tools and methodologies; transactional fluency in Salesforce/Pulsar and SAP. Knowledge of Power Generation & Transmission (preferred), Pulp & Paper, Metals & Mining, Oil & Gas, Utilities & Water, and renewable energy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Process Automation, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a four-year degree with equivalent military technical training and eight years of relevant experience, or a unique combination of education, experience, and demonstrated achievements may be considered.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal (English).
- Must have a current visa or be authorized to work in the United States.
