Summary:

The Pipeline Integrity Engineer reports to the Director of Pipeline Integrity (West). This position involves a diverse involvement in various aspects of the company’s integrity management plan. The primary focus of this position will be on maintaining and managing the company’s pipeline integrity management plans (Gas and Liquids), attending federal and state inspections, developing new integrity processes, and collecting integrity performance measures for Annual Reporting.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Assist in state and federal Gas/Liquids IMP audits, including preparation, execution, and response
  • Review and advise on new integrity-related rule making, including gap analysis and inclusion into IMPs.
  • Provide updates to IMP Plans & appendices due to continual improvement
  • Provide updates to applicable integrity SOPs
  • Develop and implement IMP/SOP training for all Integrity groups
  • Coauthor Annual IMP Performance Plan for Gas and Liquids Plans
  • Maintain IMP SharePoint site and ensure current versions of documents are available to company personnel
  • Develop new or revise integrity process documents
  • Complete all IMP-related MOC forms and update IMP Plan Revision Logs
  • Draft or update the company white paper/position papers
  • Assist in collecting integrity performance measures for Gas and Liquids Annual Reports
  • Review assessment and dig projects with integrity engineers regularly to ensure metrics are maintained

Education and/or Experience , Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To Perform This Job Successfully, An Individual Must Be Able To Perform Each Essential Job Duty Satisfactorily. The Requirements For This Position Are Listed Below:
  • Graduate engineer with a BS in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum engineering with 6 - 10 years of experience
  • Experience desirable in pipeline operations, pipeline repair, and pipeline integrity issues such as corrosion control, pipeline assessment, fitness for service evaluation, risk management, DOT Code requirements, and compliance.


Preferred Qualifications :

  • The position requires a candidate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A highly developed ability to use PCs and office computer software is required.

    Microsoft Excel is utilized heavily in this role.
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivator, able to perform effectively with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those encountered by an employee while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Usually, normal office working conditions. In-person work at 1300 Main Street, Houston, TX.
  • Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, extreme temperature conditions, and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
