About the Role

A nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm, recently acquired by a global leader in testing and certification, is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join its Houston team. This is a senior leadership position offering the opportunity to shape project strategy, mentor future talent, and influence major infrastructure and development initiatives across Texas.

  • Lead complex geotechnical investigations and provide advanced technical guidance on soil mechanics, foundation design, and earthwork solutions.
  • Oversee project execution from proposal through delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare and review detailed geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and design recommendations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, building long‑term relationships and driving business growth.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and innovation within the geotechnical division.

Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License - required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Expertise in soil mechanics, foundation systems, and geotechnical design software.
  • Strong business development skills and client‑facing experience.
