This is an exciting and fulfilling opportunity within Zachry Group’s Engineering Delivery Systems (EDS) team. We are seeking a motivated individual eager to contribute and grow in a high-impact technical role. As a Senior Systems Analyst, you will support engineering and design software systems across multiple locations, with a primary focus on the administration and optimization of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI).
This role is central to enabling efficient instrumentation design, data integrity, and cross‑discipline collaboration on large‑scale EPC projects.
What You Will Do:
Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) Administration- Administer and maintain SPI environments for production and development.
- Configure SPI projects, reference data, and user roles to meet project requirements.
- Support integration of SPI with other systems (e.g., S3D, E3D, Work Packs).
- Troubleshoot SPI‑related issues and coordinate with Hexagon support as needed.
- Ensure SPI data governance, integrity, and alignment with Zachry standards.
- Set up and maintain project CADD system environments across Zachry Engineering centers.
- Translate models and deliverables between different CAD systems and formats.
- Support execution of project IT implementation plans and work instructions.
- Provide on‑call support, troubleshooting, and resolution for engineering systems.
- Configure, test, implement, and upgrade tools to enhance design efficiency and collaboration.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data handover strategies and timelines.
- Ensure instrumentation data is accurate, complete, and aligned with project standards.
- Facilitate data handover processes to clients and construction teams, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development of data handover packages, including SPI deliverables, metadata, and documentation.
- Monitor data quality and implement controls to ensure consistency across systems.
- Lead and organize work plans and priorities for assigned team members.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to ensure technical excellence and productivity.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to specify and plan project design systems.
- Maintain contact with internal and external clients for issue resolution and clarification.
- Identify training needs, develop documentation, and conduct user training sessions.
- Create solution reference documents including configuration guides and deployment manuals.
- Monitor systems to ensure reliability and compliance with data standards.
- Analyze workflows and recommend software solutions and process improvements.
- Define and support standards and work practices for efficient project collaboration.
- Maintain software inventory and manage vendor relationships.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of methodologies and technologies.
What You Will Need:
- Extensive knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation and proven experience supporting it from an administrative standpoint.
- Associate’s degree, or relevant experience in CADD design, computer science, or engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience supporting multi‑discipline engineering projects with 2D/3D CADD systems.
- Advanced understanding of EPC lifecycle, engineering workflows, and data management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and influence others diplomatically.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in a related field.
- Experience in a lead role supporting large EPC projects (>$500M).
- System administrator‑level knowledge of platforms such as:
- Smart Plant Instrumentation, Smart Plant 3D, CADWorx
- Autodesk (Plant 3D, Civil 3D, ACC, Navisworks)
- Bentley (Open Plant, Microstation, Project Wise)
- Aveva (E3D, P&, Engineering)
- Experience with Advanced Work Packaging and process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and email.
- Manual dexterity and coordination required for system interaction.
- Light domestic and potential international travel may be required.
