Position
Level II MT/PT/UTT Technician – Texas City, TX
Full‑time, Entry Level, MISTRAS Group, Inc.
Job OverviewWe are seeking a Level II MT/PT/UTT Technician for a full‑time position in Texas City, TX. The role involves setting up and calibrating NDT equipment, conducting inspections using appropriate techniques, interpreting and documenting results, and supervising Level I technicians and trainees.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and calibrate equipment.
- Conduct tests with appropriate NDT techniques.
- Interpret, evaluate, and document findings.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method and direct the work of trainees and Level I technicians.
- Familiarize with applicable codes, standards, and contractual documents.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Obtain and analyze information.
- Edit and present numerical data effectively.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of a specialized NDT technical program meeting SNT‑TC1A (MT, PT, or UTT).
- Prior certification as an NDE Level II with at least one year of experience, or prior Level I certification with adequate field experience to certify to Level II per SNT‑TC1A.
- Demonstrated competencies: problem solving, oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, planning/organization, adaptability, dependability, quality, safety.
- Field duties require outdoor work at a plant.
- Interaction with crew employees, supervisors, and other personnel.
- Work in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise.
- Must be physically fit and able to carry 50 lbs.
- Must be able to wear required safety equipment.
- May be required to travel out of town periodically.
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
