Plant Corrosion Engineer - Relocate to Saudi Arabia, Expat

Job Overview

We are seeking a Plant Corrosion Engineer to join our Tanajib Gas Plant Department (TGPD) within the Northern Area Gas Operations (NAGO). TGPD processes 3 billion standard cubic feet per day of associated and non-associated gas, producing NGL, Sales Gas and Liquid sulfur. Your primary role is to implement, support, and continually improve Tanajib Gas Plant Department inspection corrosion management programs, provide advisory on material selection, and ensure mechanical integrity across all plant assets.

• Implement corrosion management program and on-stream monitoring.
• Conduct risk-based inspections using API‑580 methodology and review and approve recommended solutions for coating failures and cathodic protection.
• Participate in Hazard & Operability (HAZOP) reviews and ensure all issues are addressed.
• Manage water treatment program and recommend solutions to overcome challenges.
• Review design packages and validate material selection based on current codes and standards.
• Validate corrosion controls, corrosion loops and corrosion damage mechanisms frequently.
• Assess feed composition changes and approve recommended solutions to assure asset integrity.
• Develop scope and description of technology items and lead field implementation.
• Develop and transfer knowledge on the use of coating, CP, corrosion inhibitors and other corrosion controls and best practices.
• Extract data, draw conclusions from Corrosion Monitoring Technologies, troubleshoot corrosion problems and address root causes.
• Perform regular review and update on plant units' Corrosion Control Documents (CCDs) reflecting any changes resulting from plant operations or facility modifications.

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or Corrosion Science from a recognized program.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in gas processing in the oil/gas industry with material science, metrology, NDT technology and welding engineering.
• Experience running asset integrity programs at petroleum or petrochemical operating facilities.
• Ability to write clear technical reports addressing any technical issue.
• Excellent presentation skills to share knowledge with others and present business cases to management.
• Solid experience in international standards and codes such as NACE, ASME, API and ASTM, especially API‑571, API‑579, API‑580, API‑570 and API‑510.
• Valid NACE Specialist Certification or NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist or combination of NACE Corrosion Technologist, API‑571 and NACE CP Level II.
