In the role of Bridge EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:
- Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs.
- Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete), box culvert, sign structures, retaining walls and interchange design for highway projects.
- Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, and develop structural details using specialized software.
- Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
- Develop structural details using basic structural design and analysis software.
- Participate in bridge inspection, perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Experience in bridge/structural design including deep foundation design and prestressed concrete design.
- Knowledge of Projectwise, BGS, Bridgelink; familiarity with TxDOT bridge design manuals, guidance, bridge standards, preferred practices and software.
- Experience using Microstation, Open Roads Designer, Open Bridge Modeler, Projectwise, MathCAD, Bluebeam.
- Familiarity with engineering software packages such as BGS, SPColumn, Bridge Link.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and knowledge of engineering software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-Multi Pier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, sp Column, STLBridge
LRFD, or STLBridge. - Bentley Open Bridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d.
- Strong understanding and hands‑on use of computers for structural layout and design.
- Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture – a must.
