About the Role

Precise Engineering is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support a major Gulf Coast LNG facility project.

This position is primarily based in Houston, TX at a Houston-based EPC office, with frequent trips to the LNG site near Sabine Pass, TX and to the Owner’s offices in Houston and Beaumont, TX.

You will serve as the Owner’s Structural Engineering Representative for the design, construction, and startup of a new 0.1-mile lateral natural gas pipeline, aerial pipe bridge, metering station, and interconnect facilities. The project is entering the EPC phase, with startup targeted for 3Q27.

This role is ideal for a Structural Engineer with strong oil & gas / pipeline experience, EPC project background, and the ability to act as the Owner’s Engineer guiding contractors and ensuring all structural deliverables meet standards, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Owner’s Structural Engineer for a new natural gas lateral pipeline, aerial pipe bridge, metering station, and interconnect facilities serving a Gulf Coast LNG plant.
  • Lead and coordinate civil/structural engineering activities, including plot plans, piping plans, foundation and structural details, load assessments, stress analysis, structural data sheets, drawings and calculations, and surveys and geotechnical/soil test reviews.
  • Review and comment on all structural design deliverables from the EPC contractor and vendors.
  • Support bid preparation and evaluation for structural scopes and packages.
  • Serve as the primary structural point of contact with engineering contractors.
  • Provide technical input during design, fabrication, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve structural technical issues arising throughout all project phases.
  • Ensure structural packages comply with Owner standards, project specifications, and industry codes.
  • Support material selection and procurement for structural steel, concrete, and related components.
  • Monitor and manage EPC contractor performance to ensure on-time, on-budget execution of structural scopes.
  • Assist with project economics, including cost estimating and AFE support, schedule development and updates, and construction and project progress reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering (or Civil with strong structural focus) from a 4-year accredited program.
  • 10+ years of experience in the oil & gas industry, ideally with US Gulf Coast projects.
  • Experience with pipelines, pipe racks/pipe bridges, metering stations, and industrial structural supports.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas strongly preferred (or ability/willingness to obtain).
  • Expert-level knowledge of structural and industry codes and standards such as API, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
  • Demonstrated experience working with or for EPC contractors, Owner’s Project Teams, or similar project environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead meetings, resolve technical issues, and align stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% between the Houston EPC office (primary work location), LNG site near Sabine Pass, TX, and Owner’s offices in Houston and Beaumont, TX.
Why Join Precise Engineering
  • Top-tier pay: $132.52 per hour for a high-impact Structural Engineer role.
  • Direct involvement in a flagship Gulf Coast LNG facility and associated natural gas infrastructure.
  • Long-term visibility through 3Q27 with exposure to the full project lifecycle (design through startup).
  • Opportunity to act as the Owner’s Engineer, leading and influencing structural decisions at every stage.
