Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the team of a top client in the Houston, TX area. The person in this role will be providing support in a fast paced and ever evolving Hyperscale Data Center Module environment by creating specifications for static process equipment.

They will be accountable for the mechanical and piping scope and systems in large scale data centers across the design, construction, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning phases. They will support the plant during the manufacturing stage and be responsible for checking and approving drawings and designs. They will select and specify proper painting and coating systems for various items within data centers, determine brackets, fastening, bolting, or mounting of components and equipment.

Lastly, they will perform or check pipe stress analysis as well as provide piping load information.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 2‑5 years of experience in a mechanical engineering role
• Software: CAD, Navisworks, SAP, CAESAR II, Nozzle
  
  PRO, FEPipe
• Understanding of chillers, cooling towers, direct and indirect evaporative cooling, mechanical control systems, fan systems, acoustics, pumps, vessels, valves, coolers, and other critical mechanical equipment
• Experience doing calculations such as valve list, equipment lists, piping line list, piping stress/flexibility study, line sizing of pipe, mechanical equipment data sheets, etc.
• Experience with preparing bulk MTOs (Material Take Offs) and detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials).
