As a Senior Process Engineer, you’ll join a dynamic team committed to strengthening the world’s energy systems to make them more resilient, efficient, and reliable.
Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Senior Process Engineer will lead process optimization projects, drive defect reduction, and support scaling and documentation of critical process steps. This role requires deep expertise in electropolishing and electroplating, including strong command of the underlying physics and chemistry as well as hands‑on equipment understanding of related process tools.
Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Leadership
- Leads development and improvement of manufacturing processes
- Designs and executes experiments to optimize process capability and control
- Troubleshoots complex issues and implements long‑term corrective actions
- Serves as the in‑house subject matter expert for electropolishing and electroplating, guiding process design, parameter control, and equipment selection
Project Execution
- Owns projects from problem definition through validation
- Defines timelines, deliverables, and success metrics for improvement initiatives
Documentation & Quality
- Ensures process documentation meets quality and regulatory standards
- Reviews and updates control plans and process failure mode effect analyses (PFMEAs)
- Develops and maintains documentation specific to electrochemical finishing processes implementation
- Mentors junior engineers and supports technical development of team
- Other duties as assigned
- Master’s degree or higher in engineering or related field
- 4 years of process, equipment or manufacturing engineering experience
- 2 years hands‑on experience with electropolishing and/or electroplating processes
- Experience leading Kaizen or lean events
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, statistical analysis, or automation tools
- Ability to describe the inner workings of electropolish and Cu electroplating processes and equipment at the first‑principles level.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Rigorous data‑driven approach to analyzing engineering trials as well as production data
- Able to lead technical projects with minimal supervision
- High familiarity with DOE and SPC
- Clear communicator with a quality‑first mindset
This position requires sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen for extended periods while working or performing other office tasks. Ability to move around the office, including occasional standing, walking, and bending to retrieve documents, attend meetings, or use office equipment. Some light lifting may be required, up to 20 lbs.
