In this role, you will plan, develop, coordinate and review plant design and piping work on large projects having specialized requirements. You will optimize facility layout based on diagrams, client needs, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements. Your technical input will ensure configuration compliance, procurement requirements are met, and complex issues are resolved.

• Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews plant design and piping engineering work on a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit
• Develops conceptual designs for plant design and piping projects or projects having specialized or unique requirements
• Examines and analyzes pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance. Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performance data
• Optimizes facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements
• Provides the technical input to meet procurement requirements
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and supports implementation and assists with performance reporting
• Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the project to which assigned
• Mentors plant design and piping personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development. Provides input to and participates in special technical educational and training programs as directed
• Examines and analyzes pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance
• Optimizes facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements

• Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
• Must be authorized to live and work in the US without sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel and/or relocate to jobsite in support of projects.

• Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as ASME B31.3 and related API 610, 661, 617, 650, 560.
• Proficiency with Caesar II, Auto Pipe, Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiar with FEA and nozzle
  
  Pro.
• Proficiency in 3D model software such as Smart Plant Review or Navis Works.
• Perform stress analysis of critical piping for different conditions such as thermal, seismic, wind, banana effect, spalling conditions, etc.
• Perform fatigue analysis of piping system for applicable number of cycles.
• Experience in hangers‑snubbers‑struts‑sway and brace‑engineered supports.
