ISC Engineering is currently seeking a talented Drafter to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in upholding ISC's culture of integrity while contributing their diverse skill set. The ideal candidate performs assignments under the guidance of a senior level designer/engineer. The incumbent must be capable of generating working documents from rough sketches or 3D models using computer aided design (CAD) software and has knowledge of common industrial standards and drafting requirements.

Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.

Associate’s degree in drafting and 2 years’ experience in drafting.

Normally requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in drafting and an associate’s degree in drafting. This level of drafter requires experience and judgment to be utilized with various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.

• Generate working drawings from 3D models.
• Prepare design drawings from sketches.
• Prepare project drawing checklist.
• Review and check drawings for owner drafting standard compliance.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers and engineers. Must read, understand, and speak fluent English.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to read and understand units of measure for length, area and volume.

Occasionally may conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.

Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally may visit or be temporarily assigned to work in an operating plant or at a construction site. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.
