Exciting opportunities and partnerships molding the future of space exploration have led to the need for Lunar Terrain Vehicle - Senior Software Engineers at Barrios Technology supporting multiple software engineering disciplines, including simulation, flight software, software assurance, software verification, and more. Our Commercial Space team is positioned to contribute to the future of space exploration as we build partnerships with established leaders in Commercial Space.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play in a role in various commercial space endeavors with our partners that include Intuitive Machines, Axiom Space, Lockheed Martin, and others.
Barrios Technology is seeking key contributors to support the development and operations of the Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV), the next-generation lunar surface mobility system that will enable Artemis astronauts and commercial partners to explore the lunar surface. As a member of our Commercial Space team, you will have a role in molding the future of human spaceflight, working alongside leading industry partners, including Intuitive Machines, Axiom Space, Lockheed Martin, and others.

The Lunar Terrain Vehicle - Senior Software Engineer will:
- Lead design and implementation of flight software based on defined systems requirements
- Utilize software engineering expertise in assessment of systems requirements and design
- Support verification and testing of software
- Integrate software solutions in a multi-disciplinary engineering team
- Interface with hardware design and development teams
- Establish working relationships with customer counterparts, subsystem requirement owners, and commercial teammates' key personnel
- Provide technical expertise during major project milestones and project reviews
- Perform all other assigned duties

Required Education/Experience/
Skills:
- BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited engineering school and fifteen (15) years of related engineering experience
-OR-
- BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited engineering school and twenty (20) years of related engineering experience
- Extensive flight Software or Simulator development experience
- Project management or other leadership experience
- Software test and verification experience
- Expertise in object-oriented software programming, such as C/C++
- Experience with hardware/software integration
Experience leading integration with on cross-discipline engineering team - Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
- Knowledge of systems engineering practices associated with the definition, design, development, verification, implementation, testing, integration, and validation of complex systems
