Lead Subcontracts Analyst - Primoris Energy Services

Primoris Energy Services is hiring a Lead Analyst, Subcontracts in Houston, Texas. Step into a pivotal role where you’ll shape the future of energy infrastructure. This role requires flexibility to travel and relocate for the duration of assignments. Per diem is available when eligibility requirements are met.

Job Summary

The Lead Analyst Subcontracts is responsible for overseeing and performing the full range of procurement and administration activities associated with the subcontracting process for multiple construction projects to enable the successful execution of projects, cost control, and risk management. This includes qualifying suppliers, issuing requests for proposals, evaluating proposals, and maintaining subcontract records in accordance with company procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Subcontractor Selection:
    Search and propose potential subcontractors, finalize pre‑qualification assessments, and complete bidder selections to meet project requirements.
  • Bid Solicitation and Evaluation:
    Perform Request for Quotations (RFQs). Review and evaluate bidders based on technical capabilities, cost, quality, and safety considerations.
  • Contract reviews:
    Review and support contract negotiations for terms and conditions, scope of work, pricing, milestones, and deliverables in compliance with company policies.
  • Contract Administration:
    Administer subcontract agreements, receive deliverables, change orders, invoice approval and close out.
  • Vendor Performance:
    Monitor subcontractor performance, schedule adherence, and quality of work. Recommend to Project Team any changes needed to meet project goals.
  • Cost Control:
    Administrate and assist tracking subcontractor costs and progress.
  • Compliance:
    Administrate subcontractors’ adherence to safety, quality, environmental, and project requirements.
  • Reporting:
    Assist with project reports on subcontracting activities and cost performance.
  • Cross‑functional support with Procurement may be required to support project needs.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, supply chain or a related field.
  • Experience:

    8 years of experience in subcontracting administration in the heavy construction industry.
  • Construction Knowledge:
    Understanding of industrial construction practices, processes, and terminology, to understand Scopes of Work.
  • Contract Negotiation

    Skills:

    Ability to negotiate contracts and changes with subcontractors.
  • Ability to work well in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
  • Analytical and Problem‑Solving

    Skills:

    Good problem‑solving and analytical skills to identify risk, develop mitigation strategies and administer changes.
  • Communication and Leadership:
    Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Coordinate and collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, construction and project controls.
  • Detail Orientation:
    Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in contract documents, bid evaluation, and performance monitoring.
  • Computer Proficiency:
    Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools to administer subcontractor activities and facilitate the submission of reports.
  • ERP:
    Preference for ERP software programs like Vista/ Viewpoint and pVault.
