Position OverviewAs a Service Specialist at Core Print Solutions, you’ll be the face of our service organization—providing technical expertise, hands‑on support, and a customer experience rooted in professionalism and respect. You’ll install, maintain, and repair a range of equipment including multifunction printers, large‑format plotters, specialty print systems, and software‑integrated devices from leading manufacturers such as HP, Canon, Xerox, and Konica Minolta. This role requires more than technical skill—it demands a service‑first mindset, strong communication, and a consistently positive attitude.
You’ll represent Core Print’s reputation for reliability and responsiveness at every client interaction. The position reports to the Service Manager and requires approximately 80–90% travel, with up to 30% overnight.
- Installing, configuring, and testing new multifunction printers, plotters, and scanners at client locations.
- Performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibrations to ensure top‑tier performance and minimal downtime.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, or software issues efficiently and professionally.
- Providing courteous, knowledgeable guidance to clients on equipment use, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Maintaining clear and timely communication with the Service Manager and Dispatch regarding schedules, parts, and ticket updates.
- Documenting service activity in detail, including diagnostics, actions taken, and equipment condition.
- Supporting the setup of demo or refurbished equipment at Core Print facilities as needed.
- Upholding safety, cleanliness, and organization standards for vehicles, tools, and client sites.
- Demonstrating a positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times—especially when resolving complex or high‑pressure issues.
- Traveling 80–90% of the time to client sites across assigned regions (up to 30% overnight travel).
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, IT, or a related field (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- 2+ years of experience servicing printers, copiers, or large‑format equipment.
- Working knowledge of multifunction printers (MFPs) from manufacturers such as HP, Canon, Xerox, and Konica Minolta.
- Experience with large‑format plotters and scanners (e.g., HP, Canon, KIP, OCE).
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and network troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a professional presence.
- Service‑first attitude, positivity, and professionalism under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ownership of follow‑through.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, printer drivers, and firmware utilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and travel frequently.
- Experience with print management software such as Paper Cut, Printer Logic, Onyx RIP, SAi Flexi, Caldera or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with network printing protocols, IP configuration, and device integration in Windows environments.
- Knowledge of color management, calibration, and media handling for large‑format devices.
- Experience using service ticketing systems.
- A proactive, dependable approach that reinforces Core Print’s standard of reliability and client care.
