Thompson Engineering invites applications for a full‑time Professional Land Surveyor. The role requires guidance and direction to survey crews, preparation of survey documents, representation to regulatory agencies, and travel to support the Survey department.

• Performs office and field tasks for land surveying, civil engineering, and marine engineering projects.
• Prepares proposals, contracts, and flood elevation certificates.
• Consults with clients and provides guidance to field crews and technicians.
• Oversees surveying aspects of civil and marine engineering projects and prepares survey plans.
• Provides Land Court and trial testimony and presents at local and state regulatory hearings.
• Ensures compliance with Thompson Holdings, Inc. Health, Safety & Environmental Management System and participates in safety meetings.

• Seven (7) years of verifiable experience in surveying commercial, residential, and/or industrial construction.
• State license in the state where work is performed.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must read and comprehend measurements; intermediate math skills including trigonometry and coordinate geometry.
• Effective communication skills and ability to travel and stay overnight based on workload.

• Work in outdoor field conditions up to 100% of the time.
• Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Stand for a minimum of eight (8) hours per day and walk long distances.
• Bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
• Drive a company vehicle to and from job sites.
