Position: IT OT System Administrator Sr.

As an IT-OT System Operations Administrator at ENGIE North America, you will support the stability, security, and performance of systems across ENGIE's integrated IT-OT environment, with a focus on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) infrastructure. You will manage both Linux and Windows environments, oversee SCADA and IC S platforms, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity and reliability standards. This role requires a hands‑on approach to server management, system patching, backup maintenance, and incident response, along with frequent collaboration with IT‑OT, Engineering, and Operations teams.

You will also perform routine site visits to ENGIE BESS facilities across North America to ensure operational integrity and cybersecurity compliance.

Reporting to the IT OT System Admin. Sr Advisor, your roles and responsibilities include:

  • Administer, configure, and maintain Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and Windows servers.
  • Deploy, secure, and troubleshoot OT and SCADA systems supporting ENGIE BESS operations.
  • Execute system patching, backups, and recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with IT-OT, SCADA, and engineering teams on system design and documentation.
  • Implement and enforce ENGIE cybersecurity standards and ensure compliance with NERC CIP requirements.
  • Maintain diagrams, documentation, and reports for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Manage and secure remote access systems and support cybersecurity incident response.
  • Perform site visits for equipment maintenance, system support, and project implementation.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience. An associate degree with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, or a high‑school diploma/GED with a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience, will also be considered.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of IT Server Operations.
  • Advanced expertise in Linux administration, scripting (Bash), and command‑line tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and networking principles.
  • Familiarity with virtual environments, including Microsoft Azure.
  • Understanding of NERC CIP compliance and cybersecurity practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with a focus on reliability and teamwork.
  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; consisting of three (3) days in‑office and two (2) days remote.
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 50% of the time to industrial sites, including occasional overnight trips.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
  • This position consists of 20% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions.
Compensation

Salary Range: $90,405 - $150,675 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
